Happy Earth Day! 2015Posted
Today is Earth Day, a day to reflect on what you are doing for the environment. Although we only celebrate Earth Day once a year, it is important to remember that you can do your part each and every day.
One way to protect our environment is to recycle via your curbside recycling program. At Penn Waste, we continually make strides to accept more recyclables. We recently introduced Carton Recycling to the acceptable recyclables that we collect curbside. Please check out your municipality’s requirements here if you are not sure of those that are acceptable.
Recycling is only one part of the many ways that you can have a positive impact on the environment. Please review these tips to ensure you are doing your part:
- Use products made with recycled materials.
- Utilize energy-efficient light bulbs and rechargeable batteries.
- Shop with reusable cloth bags.
- Reuse plastic bags, cups, containers, etc.
- Repair any damaged items instead of throwing them away.
- Compost your food and yard waste.
These are only some of the many different green techniques that you can implement to be environmentally friendly. Please be sure to check our recycling page and the Penn Waste Blog for more Earth Day tips.
