  1. Just want to double check. My trash day is Tuesday.was moved to Wednesday for this week because of weather, so I should go bring mine back in until next week? Not a problem, in fact I am glad you consider the safety of your employees, I just want to be sure I am doing the right thing.

    Thank you

  2. It would be nice if you had some way of e-mailing us with this information before we set out our trash, etc. on the days we are to set out our trash, etc. Thanks, just a suggestion.

    • We actually do have this service. If you sign up for our E-News Updates, we provide any collection updates as they are made. We also provide details of how any other collections may be affected through the week. We hope this helps.

  3. Ironically, Tuesday was a beautiful day. Oh well, I will drag my full trashcans back up my icy driveway, and try again next week.

    • Frank,
We are sorry for the inconvenience. The reason Tuesday’s collection was cancelled is because Monday’s cancellation of collection pushed all collections back a day. Therefore we already pushed collections to Saturday. We had to completely cancel one day. As today would have been the collection for what normally is Tuesday’s customers, we cancelled today’s collections. We will accept double the normal volume next regularly scheduled collection. Once again, sorry for the inconvenience.

  4. We appreciate the fact that you care for your employees that you cancelled trash pickup because of the weather. But, to us it would have made more sense to cancel Friday’s pickup this week and they could have double for next week. The reason being that a number of Tuesday’s customers (Mt. Joy Township) had their trash out all day yesterday and the rest of us who checked your website put ours out very late last night or early this morning for pickup…who knows if the weather people would be right…too many times they are not. I don’t know when you posted this, it wasn’t late last night or early this am, not on TV cancellations. Now, we get to drag our trash back up long icy driveways…store this + additional….thanks a lot!

    • Nancy,

  5. Thanks for the update. Please next time, for those who were expecting pick up this am and had garbage out had to haul it back in off the streets. It would have made more sense to cancel Wednesday pick up since they had not put theirs out yet.

  6. I had a feeling that you guys wouldn’t make it out today, but giving the fact that I was fortunate enough to stay home from work and be safe myself, I understand and appreciate that you all want put safety first for your employees as well. My garbage cans/ recycle can wait inside my garage until next Tuesday. Thiings could always be worse. Thanks again for keeping us posted.

  7. Weather happens!Just check your email or call penn waste. I have called on occasions for other info or questions and they are always helpful and friendly. They really are a good group of people working hard, and getting their job done in a safe and timely manner,so just chill a bit!and a big thanks to all of you at penn waste! J. Marsico

  8. Cancelling Tuesday’s pickups for this week is not acceptable – especially to be notified a full day after the normal collection was to occur. While I understand that the weather impacts pick ups, I can assure you that after an informal poll in our neighborhood (Manchester Twp.) everyone is simply planning to leave the icy, wet cans of trash & recycling out until next week (as we won’t bring it back into our house / garage.) I agree with the earlier poster that it makes more sense to cancel pickups slated for Thursday or Friday as they probably haven’t put their waste outside yet.

    • We are sorry for the inconvenience. We are operating on a holiday schedule this week due to Monday’s weather. Monday’s collections were collected on Tuesday. Tuesday’s collections were supposed to occur on Wednesday, but due to the weather, they were cancelled. As we stated before, we will collect double the normal volume next week. Again we are sorry for the inconvenience and hope that you will be patient with us during the weather.

    • The reason your trash did not get picked up was due to Penn Waste operating on a holiday schedule due to Monday’s weather. All collections were pushed back a day. With the weather on Wednesday, which would be Tuesday’s collection, we had to cancel that day as well. We will accept double the normal volume next week. We apologize for any inconvenience.

  9. Thanks for the update. I have signed up for the e newsletter, so i am sure it would be helpful for future. Few people in my lane had kept the trash bins outside for thursday collection, but this information is definitely a huge help.
