Are You Recycling At Your Tailgate?

Football-big-thumb-2Football season is well underway, and along with football comes tailgating. Tailgating is a great way to get fans pumped for the game, but with that energy, trash follows. Luckily, many of the products used during tailgating are recyclable. Check out these helpful hints on how to recycle properly at your next tailgate.

First we will focus on what you can recycle at your next tailgate. These items include:

  • Plastic Containers
  • Condiment Containers
  • Aluminum Beverage Containers
  • Plastic Beverage Containers
  • Empty Charcoal Bags (Paper Bags)
  • Cartons
  • Many More!

Please make sure these containers are empty and are rinsed out before tossing them in your recycling bin. These materials are recycled to create new materials. Here are some of the products that can be created by tossing these items in your recycling.

  • New Aluminum Cans
  • New Plastic Bottles
  • Plastic Buckets & Containers
  • Plastic Lumber
  • Paper Towels, Napkins & Tissues

What else can you do to make your tailgate green? Aside from recycling, consider bringing reusable dishware. By using disposable plates and utensils, you are generating more waste. By packing up your tableware and taking it home, you are reducing the amount of waste you generate substantially. Another important item to remember is trash and recycling bags. Although this may be a given, bringing these items reduce the amount of litter at your tailgate site substantially.
