You may not have known that so many everyday products come in aluminum or steel containers, and are recyclable. For the month of October, we are going to highlight a different room of your house each week and show you what aluminum and steel products are recyclable in these rooms. For aluminum and steel recycling in your kitchen, keep reading!

Recycling in your kitchen may be one of your most well-educated topics, simply due to the fact that there is so much that can be recycled. That goes for aluminum and steel products as well. Ranging from beverage cans to food preparation, many metal products that you may find in your kitchen can be tossed in your recycle bin.IMG_20131004_104233_354

Let’s start with one of the most known recyclable: soda and beer cans. As many people have been doing for years now, these items may be placed in your recycle bin. Regardless of size, all of these metal containers are recyclable. Other products that you may already know are recyclable include the cans that hold canned food such as fruits and veggies. Make sure that you clean these items and toss them in your recycle bin!

Did you know that the cooking spray cans are recyclable? They are! As long as they are empty, these cans may be placed in your recycle bin. Any other type of oils or food preparation materials that come in aluminum or steel cans may also be recycled. Be sure to place these items in your recycle bin the next time you finish using the products.

In order to ensure you are maximizing the space of your recycle bin, consider crushing your cans. This saves you space so you can minimize the amount of trash going into the waste stream.

  1. Thank you for the info on recycling. I think it is very important. I can remember saving tin foil wrappers from gum when i was a child. It was even considered part of the War (WWII) effort.
